Are 70's Lincoln Cents with 'S' mint marks worth setting aside

    No. S mint cents aren't worth a premium over any other cent - they were minted in very large quantities, and circulated freely (they were business strikes - it wasn't until the mid/late 70's that San Fran became the "Proof" mint).

    And to me, "penny" and "cent" are interchangeable, equivalent, and equally acceptable.

    Do you get offended when people call the "5 cent" piece a nickel? It clearly says 5 cents on the coin.

    Do you get offended when people call the "dime" a 10 cent piece? It clearly says "one dime." There is vernacular, and commonly used terminology, and it is perfectly acceptable.
