Picked up a 1922 Peace Dollar. Maybe a VAM? Looked up peace vams, didn't find it. Can someone enlighten me? It has a ray between head and wing. Thanks, Mac

Nice one, it could possibly be any of these, you will have to do the research:

My profile image is of a 1922 12A Moustache VAM purchased in 2013 for $19 and I could not get the cash out of my wallet fast enough lol, here is an image of it taken by Robec Images.

Love the 'stash. Thanks for the pointer. The 2R2 VAM looks the closest to my coin. Mine just seems more pronounced. You think it's a good one for spending the money to slab? Thanks for your help, Mac

All VAM's are good for Slabbing if that is what you are into or reselling, if that is the route you chose I have heard that ANACS is the best for slabbing VAMs. Mine is still RAW, however I have been considering in slabbing so I can sell it and invest that into possibly acquiring a 1914-D or 1909-S VDB. In the end it really is up too you. I am not sure what your VAM is worth, I know that the 12-A at 64 is a $2400.00 coin at least the last time I did research. I haven't checked as of late so I am not sure anymore.

I've never had a coin slabbed, but am considering it because I'm not getting any younger and I don't want my kids to get ripped off if they decide to sell. Do you collect only VAM 's? In the last year I've been looking for errors in all my coins, but the VAM' s have been popping up, I may have some good ones. I just need to educate myself. I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks again, Mac

I think that is an often-overlooked reason for dealing with slabs.:)

I do not collect VAM's, finding the 12-A was a mistake after doing some VAM research with a friend. My collection interests are Lincoln's and Jefferson's. If you want to educate yourself on VAM's just go to VAMworld.com and find all the information on VAM's you could want.

Pcgs and Ngc rarely notes details like Vam or variety unless you pay for them. Yeah one more fee. Anacs was notes Morgan and Peace dollars details was doing free. But could have changed that.

Do you collect errors or high grade? I have some error cents and nickels ,along with some nice ungraded ones. I actually collect too many types. Unfortunately I love the old coins, so I have few silver dollars. I've got some of about everything, the only complete sets are Kennedy's,most modern everything. I'm starting to ramble, gonna go now. That's an interesting VAM. I can't stop thinking though, that her nose is running. Sorry.

BTW, for the price, I would have bought it as well.

Yeah I sometimes think they should have called it bugger Liberty but then it probably wouldn't be as catchy lol.
