Actually all you have done is expose yourself for the fool you are, post counts really? You've been the perfect example of a waste of time for a business so i thank you for that. This is why dealers wont deal with you, you got so defensive then complete nonsense. Waste of time. Oh PS is youre one of those "people" who sees a number and thinks thats someones age, please stop trying to spread what you "know".
How did I know you didn't want to go through my posts. What lazy kid would? Yeah, you're a big time dealer all right! What is the name of your company? Is it on the internet or just on Craigslist? I'm not defensive. I'm just calling you what you really are, sonny boy! Chris
You mean the ones where you resort to personal attacks every-time you're proven wrong? lol. Have fun I've done my community service with you long enough I was well aware how misinformed and full of hate you were before my first post. Stick to ebay though, seems to fit your interests for under 5 dollar service...
Thanks for the support folks but by now you can see what I was up against. And therefore this thread. I'm positive that if I walked into a bricks and mortar store and handed everything like proof coins over to them gratis, that they would be more than happy to make some money off them. Instead I choose to be thrifty, not cheap. Granted, I do not own a store like this and operate small from my basement but I'm sure there are plenty of dealers who find some time to card these rather common coins. If for no other reason but selling then perhaps to hand one out now and then to a YN or regular customer as a thank you. Many dealers also support coin clubs and these are a small but satisfying way to please members by handing them out and I have seen door prizes that include these types of coins. Oh well, I tried but right now I'm thinking of an old Jerry Jeff Walker tune...you know the one..."****** in the wind". Have a great night all.
I'd still pick it up... it'd be easier to read, too; not to mention the errors and other varieties. The treasure hunter in me will never fade.
Sigh, good luck with the thread everyone. Please don't hate your local dealers just because they don't have those coins...
<looks around to make sure the coast is clear - jumps quickly into the hall> I always always always always pick up coins. The worst is seeing one out of reach or beyond an unsurpassable barrier. At such times I yearn for a long stick with a wad of gum on the end. But carrying such a thing around tends towards the socially unacceptable. Oh well. <ducks quickly back in the corner - rapidly looks both ways for safety>
Dam you, yes okay in all seriousness lol. Good point tip of the hat. Let me phrase, different coins have different values, be aware and don't be a snob like some people are with low value purchases.
No offense intended when is the last time you tried to sell? 100 percent info gathering not belittling you like some of the small minds
Let''s get back to original topics. Sure, these modern proofs aren'the of great value, but they are of some value. I doubt a dealer is busy making huge deals every second, so I imagine in down time he could put these together in tubes. It's called profit maximization. It's free money if you have a few spare moments to capitalize on it, which I believe 99% of dealers would. To argue your hourly rate is completely missing the point. Without these to take care of in that spare moment your earnings are zero. Btw, I am still in my 40's, have a good paying job, and still pick up coins in parking lots. It's literally free money. Regarding judging "big spenders", be careful. I do nothink think you know as much as you think baseball21. I have been known to buy a few $5 coins over a year visiting dealers at their shop or table, only to buy a $1500 coin when they have something I want. Just because a collector understands value does not mean they do not have the means to make larger purchases, it might very well mean the opposite. I do not waste.my money frivolously, therefor have more hobby money.
