Lucite encased notes: real or fake?

Are those clear blocks of lucite-encased notes real or fake?

I figure that the top and bottom ones are authentic one dollar US notes... but the "notes" in between can all be fake. Here's an example of a $100 stack that's supposedly embedded in lucite (pic from the 'net):

I would assume they are real but I don't really know I haven't seen this before. How much FV is there if they are all real??

 

Maybe 5 stacks or so of 100 $1-bills.

 

Well thats an expensive paperweight then lol is it for sale or you just saw a photo of it and are curious?

 

Only the top and bottom notes are real. Trust me. Many years ago, I worked for a company that made them. I actually polished those blocks at the end of the manufacturing process.

 

So then theres $200 in real money in that? Whats i the middle blank pieces of paper?

 

Let me rephrase.
Only the notes you can see are real.
There's only two dollars in that block.

 

Yeah I thought it was too good to be true. Now I'll know to avoid them - thanks!
