I remember in early 2014, a 2014 DDO cent was discovered in Florida. What ever came of it? I would assume coppercoins would have a listing for it by now. Thanks

Oh man!!!! That #3 die set is awesome!!!!

Thanks for the link. And now the situation is really odd now. They cross reference coppercoins.com die set but I cant find any die sets ON coppercoins

I really like a slight hubbing shift/rotation over a actually doubling of the device sometimes. I think its the cat's meow when the letter has a calligraphy look to them. That date on die #3 is fantastic.

I found coppercoins listing 2011p 1do-004 and the date on it rocks

I found die #4 last year to my amazement. It's graded AU 58 from ANACS. I was looking at a pamphlet called "The Short List" (Rare and Valuable Modern Lincoln Cent Varieties). It says it is "scarce" R-6. I checked and R-6 is 32 or less specimens. It boggles my mind since almost all of the shield cents I see here on the West Coast are Denver mint. The odds of me finding a Philly coin that rare

    Awesome awesome awesome.

I think the hubbing press at the mint is starting to lose its tight tolerance. The doubling looks like its getting more dramatic as time goes by AKA great news!!!!! :)

IF it was doubled, it wouldn't be DDR since that is the Obverse of the coin. It would be a DDO.

You deserve a reward for being the one who realized that:pompous:

Something is happening. I'm sure glad. Some of the new ones remind me of the 1972 dies.

I still don't understand how it can happen with only a single squeeze. You'd think they would come out to look more "smeared" than doubled.

Obviously I don't work for the mint so I can only guess at that's happening. It could be....

They have an issue during the hubbing process and have to squeeze more than once. Or......

The hub and die are not perfectly square to each other and at the bottom of the stroke the hub and die finally square up.

I read that the mint suspected an employee turned the press off part way through a hubbing, then turned it back on and it shifted. Supposedly they put a lockout on the switches now so that can't happen. Something is happening though.

Well first let me Welcome You To Cointalk
It is considered high jacking someone thread when you ask questions about a coin you have.
It would be in your best interest to create your own thread and be sure to post good and clear pics of your coin. JMO
