Been a while, but decided to drive around and hit up some local banks today. About $25 in loose halves yielded 3 40%ers. Not too bad

Did my last 2 boxes of halves for the year. Came out with 3 1967's. At least I got a bit of silver to finish out the year.

Also finished my last 2 boxes of cents for 2015 last night. Only 10 wheats out of the 2 boxes but one was a nice 1909. Not bad :)

Did a bag of dimes yesterday, got 4 silver rossevelts and found a silver proof 2009 dime, that's a rather odd find.

Went through my Aunts change while i was over her house yesterday.
About 10-15 dollars worth of daily change.
    1 Proof 1986 S Quarter.
Its a beauty too. First one found in change for me!

The bank that I scored a big jackpot from a year ago had $74.50 in halves, which I excitedly cleaned them out of. Guess the silver depositor hasn't returned - they were all common date clads.

Just finished off a nice BWR box of Cents.

    30 wheats!!! The oldest two coins were 1916 -P and 1919-P. Other highlights included 1944-S, 1945-S, (2) 1952-S, 1953-S. Plus a few 2009s and 22 Canadian cents.

Interesting box. I picked it up in NH. Twice as many wheats in this box as my usual MA boxes.

The 1916-P is wow worn, but it fills a slot in my book and I've been looking for one for years. 1916 was the year my Grandpa was born; he was the first coin collector in the family, though his passion was mostly for circulated bicentennial quarters from the bowling alley... ah well.

Oh also found a silver quarter today, 1964-P, the only keeper in 8 CWR of quarters.

Searched 2 boxes of halves... found 1 '64-D.

...So I decided to check the banks for CWRs. At my first bank the teller had $80 in rolls but I noticed one of the rolls had "not silver" written on it.

I asked him if they had all been brought in at the same time and was told yes, the same customer turned them in all at once yesterday. I was reluctant to buy someone's already searched rolls, but I felt obligated at this point and took them anyway. What I found inside was ALL silver, 159 40% silver halves! (and 1 1971-D) The rolls were all segregated by date, coins stacked heads up, and mostly BU, some with light roll rubbing, a few with small green verdigris spots.

I can only guess that whoever wrote "not silver" on that roll didn't know that '65 - '70 halves are 40% silver.

Another example of "always take what you can." I love it. Good score.

I would love to be there if you ever are in line behind that poor soul and tell them how knowledge can = money.

    Box of pennies:

    22 wheats (1920, 1923, 1936, 1937, and the rest were common 40s/50s dates)

    4 2009's

    17 Canadians (oldest being 1957)

1 Panama 1982 One Centesimo (first I've ever discovered)

a couple of beautifully blue & purple toned keepers

    1971-S, 1972-S

First half of the box was much more exciting - the 1920 came out of the first roll.

2 boxes of halves (first of the year) -
    8 40%, 1 Proof, 12 NIFC, 1 Plated Counter-stamped 1983P

Not bad for the start of the year.

Stopped in at a bank today I rarely get stuff from, the teller told me she ordered and extra box of halves when she got stuff this week and wanted to know if I would take it. I did of course and got 3 40% in it.
