I know what Off-center strikes are. My question is how much Off-center must it be to be of any value? .020 thousands rim on one side compared to .035 thousands rim on other? Or no rim at all on on edge?
An off center coin starts to go up in premium when the design of the coin spills off the edge. If it is just a tiny little bit, such that the rim on one side is missing, it won't get as much of a premium. The more of the design that is missing, usually the higher the value.
NOTE: The design includes any lettering and numerals (called the legend) that extend around the outer edge. Chris
