Since I am sooo new to this, and have received really great feedback from earlier posts, I figure this strange quarter might have an easy explanation. The strangest part to me is the line that follows the contour of the middle monument up through the word Rushmore. I guess the real question is this, could this be an after mint error I.E. Vise/pliers etc? Or have any of you seen this before? I would like y'all to know this... I know I am new to this, I appreciate all of your input, and I respect your views and knowledge immensely. I think this type of forum is great not only for Old Newbies but also the young ones as well. Thank you in advance for sharing the knowledge!

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    Definitely post mint damage.
There's no way to know who, what, when, where or why, though.

The coin appears to be bent which would be considered PMD......Post-Mint Damage. Can you give us a photo of the reverse?

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Definitely mutilated post mint. Worth a quarter in the right place (it won't fit in most vending machines...)

Hi Chris, I've taken some different photos. There is very little visible damage to the obverse side other than the bend. Looks to me like somebody smashed it.???

Sorry, I meant the obverse. Brain fart! Actually, I can see the damage at about 7 o'clock. I still think it is PMD.

Thanks for posting the photo, Cap'n!
