That's hilarious! I remember in high school when my Honors Biology teacher showed us an updating counter with the population of the world. It was going up quite a bit every second. The teacher asked us something along the lines of "What the population would be in 2020 based on the current rate?" After we all finished, he told us something rather funny. He said the biggest difference between the honors class and his regular class was that the regular class immediately began throwing out random guesses while the honors students all looked at their watches or the clock and began taking notes. Maybe the students were rubbing off on their teachers!

A little harsh, in my opinion

There's a correct answer to this. Had I not counted each coin and wrote it down as I constructed this image I'm not sure if I could solve the amount.
It's funny how your eyes and mind can play tricks.
Even by marking or other methods one might use to solve this you sometime don't see the forest for the trees!
As stated before all the items in the image had been on my desk. The only thing I'm getting out of this is a New Years Resolution to finally put some of this mess away.

    $15.04
I am assuming that the images of the currency are on the cover of the book that most of the coins are set upon, thus did not include in my total.

A true Irishman would have put $17.59 in the photo, in honor of when Guinness was first brewed, lol.

I can clearly see the edge coins have shadows, so yes, it appears it is on a book.

Yes, but is the currency printed on the book; and whether it is or not, is it included in the total? The plot thickens, lol.
