I went through and collected all of the guesses I could find in the thread from the first 24-hour period of the contest: $17.04 $17.63 $36.45 $16.77 $17.05 $16.00 $32.94 $16.34 $20.16 $43.18 $20.01 $14.32 One Cent $16.66 $14.67 $175.00 $18.12 Most answers are in the same neighborhood, while some seemed way out in left field... but Paddy hasn't indicated a winner yet. Not sure if all the above are acceptable per the rules, but here comes day two! My guess (count) for day two, is $15.34 Also, yesterday I was helping to show how the vignette of Washington was not a note so shouldn't factor into your count. Further evidence of this is that you can see the corners of the frame of the print this image of Washington is from, poking out around the outer corners of the image (in the OP). The corners can be seen behind the coins piled on top of this rectangular matted vignette laying under all the coins. Clicking post now... my computer says 12:01AM on January 2nd.
16.57 What i did to figure out what the Washington was, was i measured 6 nickels in a row (because that was the size of whatever the coins were laying on) and it measured 5 inches exactly. No fractional note with Washington facing left is 5 inches long. Also it is to my knowledge that most pictures/picture frames are 5 inches by 7 inches. I hope my guess is correct. Whenever i count i get a different amount!!! But i did get 16.57 twice so fingers crossed!
If I'm even close to the right answer, I'll feel super clever. If I'm way off, then I over thought it, which is very much like me
I have to say at this hour...no winner....... no one has guessed the correct amount . And every thing you see was minted or printed by the U.S. government.
Andy no need for you to post any answers to this contest as you were disqualified . So any answers you post have no validity. In fact you are bared from any future contest I may sponsor. For the most part the YN'S who post here are respectful. They conduct them selves in a mature manner. You sir do not! And for that reason alone are on ignore . Most forums don't allow anyone under 16 to become members for the very reasons you exhibit .
Is this ROCKET SCIENCE???I took photo to the new years eve gathering, high school superintendent, principal, algebra, teachers my wife the book keeper and presented the coin pic.. they all emailed next day wanted to know who got it right... The moral of this story you don't want to go to this High School they all guess ,figured wrong they had some of the same answers here listed by the coin PROS AS I CALLEM... I feel much better knowing these college educated friends are no better at figuring this than I..
