I'm sorry it's in the flip. I took it out of the cello and put it straight in the flip without snapping any pictures. I totally forgot.

If it has to come out of the flip to give me a good guess then let me know and I'll take it out.

I'm pretty curious about the 2 marks around the 9. How bad would those hurt the grade? 20151231_023725-1.jpg 20151231_023758-1.jpg

In my opinion, it's not worth the price of grading.

You should be able to find one already graded for less money then you would spend to have one graded

The spots would knock the grade down one or two points.

Is this still in 40% silver ?

It's a shame. It would be a nice looking coin if not for the spots.

It's a turn-off for me! It looks like it was hit with a stun gun.

You could buy the whole 1970-D proof set for very little money and get a spankin' brand-new Kennedy

Just checked: I paid $30 for the entire 1970 proof set, in original packing, including the 70-D Kennedy.

That's not a proof Kennedy, it's a business strike do you mean mint set? You can also easily get a 1970 mint set for under $20 even on Ebay.

OP I like the E in Liberty on your coin looks interesting with that big a gap. Although as others have said the obverse spots really draw the eye.

70D Proof? I'd like to see that! I think you paid too much!

1970-D is a Mint Set. $18.99 from one of my online dealers in original mint packaging.

That's what it came out of! I cut it out of the cello myself.

I got 2 of them for that price. I haven't looked at the second one yet. Hopefully it's better.

Yeah, you can get a deal on a whole mint set, but you'll probably also get a low grade 70-d. Many/most of the high grades have been cherry picked. If you want a certified high grade, you're best bet/price would probably be to buy one already graded.

Here's the listing for the second one. I think I did pretty good on it!

If you're going the mint set route, try to cherry pick one with a 70-s small date. I got one from eBay last year.
