TJ, I couldn't find our '56-Ds. Here's a crappy scan of one of our '56s that was mixed in with our '57-Ds. As you can probably make out, it's a fuller chip.

There's actually a method to our madness. That would be me and my kid. We have over 50 pounds of Wheats. They keep us busy, lol. We separated out some of the '57-Ds, about 30 or so, that had chips in the date and in LIBERTY. We have many others that have chips in those areas, too, but just haven't separated them all out from the piles. We have some separated out, but not nearly all.

As an aside, these chips run through the Memorial coppers, too, but seem to end off at the Memorial zincs. At least, that's been our observation. We have a '72-D with the space in the 9 totally chipped out, and some '60s like that, and half chipped, as in your '56-D. We have S Wheats that are chipped in those areas, too. That makes sense, as they're really just stress to the dies, just like a crack.

Anyway, here's the '56, and sorry I couldn't come up with the ones like yours...

eddie- 50 pounds!?!? That's great! Yes, that will keep you busy. Yes, I can see the chip, very nice one! I just wish they weren't so common. Thanks for the feedback!

TJ, you just posted a '94 with a chip in a 9. I didn't think those happened in the zinc cents at all. Funny what you learn from one another when you just share your finds. :)

TJ I have been there, once ordered a bag of 5000 w cents, and I thought I'd never get through them one at a time, but a couple months later I managed to do it. Keep looking.
