Has this coin been cleaned or dipped?

I'm looking at buying this coin, it appears to be in a good grade, but the reverse looks, at least to me, that it has been cleaned. I noticed the black looking stuff in some spots on the reverse, in particular the eagles feet and one of the feathers. I'm not a new collector, but not an expert by any means either. What grade would you think it is if not cleaned? poland2.jpg poland1.jpg

Hard to tell. It looks very lightly circulated to me, but the surfaces do look lifeless relative to the amount of detail left. It could just be a bad picture, but I'd lean toward heavily overdipped.

Mostly ditto. Something has been done to impair the coin's originality as it is "lifeless." Looks chemically altered surface. Note how the marks on the cheek are the same as the rest of the surface...no contrasting color.

Looks dunked to me,but if the price is low enough I'd get it...

The photo makes it hard to gauge the surfaces and any luster. These coins generally are not known for strong cartwheel luster, I would expect it to be somewhat dull. Did you get it from a seller in eastern Europe? Lots of coins like this being sold from there have been dipped or otherwise cleaned.

From these pics I'd have to say over dipped , even satin finished coins will have some cartwheel and though it may be the pics this coin looks lifeless .
Unless the seller can give you better pics or you're buying at melt I'd look for another one .
