Not even sure if I'm in the correct thread to get an opinion on this. Thanks in advance for your opinion. S20151227_006.jpg S20151227_007.jpg S20151227_008.jpg

You're almost always better off starting new threads, and this is especially true here with this particular OP. With that said, no... it's not a doubled die. The previously posted link should give you a good explanation of, and allow you to ID, exactly what it is.

TJ.. why don't you create your own unique thread with your coins and questions? It would be seen better and you won't be piggybacking on someone else's thread.

paddy- Okay, yes. I'm starting to understand the process here. I don't want to tick anyone off by stepping on their threads. I'm trying to find somewhere in CT if my questions or similar pictures have already been posted in an established thread somewhere. I'm sure my "novice" questions have already been asking somewhere in CT, I just have to find it......which isn't easy. I was just looking for a similar thread by doing a "key word" search in the upper right corner of this page. I was just hoping to find answers to my questions or pictures, without wasting your time or others and not being a pain in the butt. But now I get it.... Don't "tread" on other peoples threads. Tks, tj

You aren't wasting anyone's time. If they are bored enough to be haunting these threads they would love to help educate you. We all started out knowing nothing, and thinking we found something valuable when we came here.

Thanks for that! Fortunately, I get most of my questions answered just by reading and surfing these threads. You pickup real fast who the clowns and sarcastic ones are! Or who are trying to be smarter then the next guy! I respect the knowledgeable ones on these threads who you see taking the time to explain to the newbee's or kids who are trying to learn. Thanks again, See you on campus.

Also most people here know what they are talking about, however some don't. If you have a coin that is interesting and someone says spend it they are probably right. If you still have doubts save it. Take it out in a year and look at it with the eyes of someone who knows more than they did when they started. Nothing worse than finding a coin worth saving and tossing it because some fool says it's no good. I have a 1984D Lincoln doubled die that I knew was the real deal because I studied pics on other sites. I shared it here and some newbie posing as someone who knew something said "I don't see any doubling toss it". My reply was "have you ever looked at pics of doubled die's for that year?". Of course he hadn't so that's the last I heard from him. Go to Coppercoins.com, and doubledie.com and look at all the doubled dies for every year, study them. Then you will be armed with some knowledge while roll searching.

Roger that, I completely agree. Thanks for the links. A couple of other guys suggested these as well. As you can tell by the above 69s and Motto postings, I'm trying to training my eye to spot unusual details. I know there is a lot of knowledge on this site. I'm just trying to cut thru some of the egos, personalities and bias I see out there. "In God We Trust - All Others We Monitor" Thanks again for you detailed feedback!

I do hope you realize my pushing to do this on your own is because we, in my most humble opinion, learn more when doing for ourselves than we do when simply handed the answer. When you come to your conclusion on a coin, post to the board to see if you're right... you may be surprised at how quickly you'll catch on.
