Was there a change1979D 1989D Quarters

    Hi I had this 1979D US quarter for a bit and just received a 1989D which are different in size and weight and everything else I looked up changes but they say it stayed the Same. ALSO unsure if the 9 in 1979 was actually a 6 or it may be wear but the circles are different 1989D looks like there are other mintmarks through scope and some pics as well as the 1979D is doubled by the ear and can vaguely see we understand the real we as well as a what i believe to be eye brow lower towards the nose and a Dot or cud where hair is tied also the 1989 weighs at 3.67 and 79 3.60 (89) is a touch larger in diameter

    A cud is only formed near the rim of any coin. Anywhere else it would be called a Die Chip. Don't use the word Dot for American coinage. I think that only applies for Canadian Coins :yuck:
    There is a +/- tolerance in weight for US coins. Seems normal. The 1979 has been in circulation for almost 37 years.. that's why you see all those strange findings. Wear could make it smaller.
    Normal.. not an upside down 6 if that's what you are thinking
