OK, does anyone have suggestions on which bank I should go to, to get old coins and bills, 2 dollar bills, and rolls and boxes of coins. Thanks!!
Unfortunately, there isn't an "old money bank", Andy.... the closest thing to that would likely be a coin dealer. Some have better luck at certain locations than others, but there are no sure bets. You're going to have to figure this one out you self by trial and error.
Do you think he drives yet? Or even has permission to go that far from home given the questions. Just sayin' $2 dollar bills can be found at almost any branch of any bank in any town.
You don't have to spend it, just because you have it. Ask if they have any old $5s or an old $10 as well if they don't have any older $2s. Do you own any books on Small-sized U.S. Paper Money, yet? For about $15 you could have a decent one to learn about every series out there.
I'd recommend buying either or both of these books if you are getting into U.S. notes: Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money (Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money 1928 to Date) Tenth Edition A Guide Book of United States Paper Money, Fourth Edition No, I don't acquire my notes from the bank. They are usually mishandled, and in poor condition.
