Was searching $1800 in new $2's today and had this one star tucked in among the consecutive numbers :)

Good find!! In a pack of consecutive numbers? Where did the consecutive numbers begin? :)

I forgot which pack it came from exactly but all 8 packs from the BEP start E 00157- - - A. This is the first star I've found in a consecutive pack. Why is the star from new York and the pack is from richmomd?

Star notes are not restricted for use in matching districts only. You can find star notes to replace damaged notes in just about any district. Most of the star notes are printed in advance for just this reason. Sometimes you will find series 2009 star notes used as replacement notes in series 2013 notes.

That's exactly what this was, a 2009 in a 2013 pack. Cool info thanks
