about 10 years ago when my father was alive he worked at a residential company and when people would move out he or other workers would clear the units.

He would always come home with cool things and expensive furniture.
One time he came with a bunch of really nice things, which seemed to be collectible.

There was collectible records and action figures.
Somewhere in that stuff I found some coins.

It looks like a came across a coin from

    http://parthia.com/parthia_ident_drachm_no-light.htm

    Pacorus II (c. A.D. 78 - 105)
    AR Drachm, 3.52 g
    Mint/ Ecbatana, undated
Obv/ beardless bare-headed bust left wearing diadem with loop at the top and three ends, earring visible. No royal wart
Rev/ archer seated right on throne holding bow, below bow monogram 26. Blundered Greek legend

So its from an early Parthian Empire with no beard.

I took it to a few places today and just want your opinions.
The first place told me to take it to an ancient coin expert.

The second guy was not a coin dealer but antiques and he looked at it with a little
magnifying thing. he said many people make these things and it looks fake.
He also said he is no expert and I should take it to this one coin place.

I went there and the guy quickly got a radar looking gun and scanned it.
He said it was something with iron.
He also weighed it and said its pretty much spot on and I should send it in to get graded, He initially thought it was a common coin, then I told him it was uncommon.

He went and looked it up and agreed with me on what it was and said to send it in.

He said it costs like 40 bucks and can take about a month.

Now I am willing to do this but I want your opinions on it.

I don't know if I can upload pics on here yet but if I can, then I will.

What do you guys think its worth?

Another reason I want to confirm this coin is legit is another coin I found with it.
The kind of coin that makes you sick to your stomach once you know of it.

I wont say the year yet because it is in my safe at another house.
I will get confirmation on the exact year it is later tonight.

Lets just say its a RARE penny, very RARE.
I will get clear pictures of it tonight so I can upload that too.

So if this Parthian coin is legit then maybe the penny is too.

Why the rush to get a price? Don't you want to find out about the coin first, or are you just looking for a quick buck? Want our opinion on legitimacy, post the pictures of the coin, and it will help if you can provide weight in grams and diameter in milliliters.

I will say this, rare is a relative term in Ancients. All Ancients are more or less rare, and rarity sometimes doesn't have as much to do with the price as popularity and demand for a particular coin.

Honestly if its only a few hundred dollars I will keep it but if its in the thousands.
Well, yes I would sell it. The penny is another story. I will try to upload the Parthian coin right now.

If its a Parthian, I doubt it would be more than a few hundred at most.

Getting an ancient coin graded is a waste of money in my opinion. The grading service won't guarantee the coin is authentic, and an ancient coin collector will know what the grade is anyway just but looking at it.

There are plenty of people here who can give a reliable opinion on the authenticity.

You may need to do it from a regular computer

And I already know the price of one in XF condition, around $180-$220 provided yours is real...the million dollar question.

180-220 then its not really a million dollar question. lol

I am using a computer and it doesn't do anything when I search my images and click on them.

Click upload file at the bottom and select file you want uploaded. Should upload any JPG image. That was 2011 auction prices BTW. Could be higher now, but not much more really.

That doesn't seem to do anything at all for me. I am doing what you said.
I tried a different pic of something else and png. works. Give me a sec to get it uploaded somehow.

Portrait looks a little weird to me. Back looks OK. I think I'd rather someone more knowledgful of Parthian weigh in on this coin to be honest. I'm sure they'll be here shortly to give you their opinions.

The wavy hair and protruding chin looks a lot like Pacorus I. It's not uncommon to get Parthian rulers mixed up as they didn't put names on their coins. Where are the Parthian experts in this room? We need @dougsmit as he could sort this out in 5 seconds.

Ok guys my brother just texted me some pics of the penny, but I want him to try and take even better pictures. Confirmed its is a 1974 "silver" Cent.

Another feature of this penny is that it has what I just found out yesterday is that it has what is known as "cud" on the bottom rim on the face side and on the opposite side.

There are no silver cents. In 1943 it was aluminum due to the war. If your penny is legit, probably an error coin then. But there's been no silver coins since 1964 (except 40% silver halfs until the early 70s), and pennies were never silver. If it is an error, not sure how that could have happened though. You may want to ask the US coins section for advise.
