Blocking me for years? You've only been a member here since 12/27/14. Priceless!

I don't care much for minor error stuff as well and I should be able to post my opinion about it without being insulted over it. There is no need for it Books.

    Was just an observation...

As for why the TPGs don't accept them, it's simple demand, and there's not enough there to justify the service. Attributing such minor coins is a time consuming endeavor, and not one that makes sense for a business concerned only with profit. You know the different variety attribution costs; who is going to pay that for a minor variety worth, at best, maybe a few dollar premium over normal? The only somewhat limited exception, iirc, is ANACS and even then it's only worthwhile for a select few.

But I guess it's okay for the vitriol to be injected into every other thread on this subject, right? This isn't a one time thing here; again and again and again this gentleman feels the need to not only insult the intelligence of those who collect such things, but also imply that the attributors themselves are perpetrating some sort of scam in order to line their pockets; it's ridiculous! He doesn't like them and that's fine; neither do you or do I, but don't the members of this board that do also deserve a little respect? There's a difference between simply expressing an opinion, and attacking those who feel differently than you. There "is no need" for this as well, sir.

With that said, you're right. I overall respect Chris and apologize for engaging in unnecessary title for tat.

I can understand the joy of finding such a coin in my pocket change, but I will never understand why people would pay a premium for such a thing. Same goes for VAMs, Newcomb, Sheldon, Snow, FS and all the like. This is just my opinion though and people are free to buy, sell and collect anything that they like as long as they are doing it in an honest manner. I'm not trying to offend anyone here, I just simply don't get it.

I have no reason to dislike you, either, and I don't, but when I believe in something, I just find it hard to let it go. What would have happened if Henry Ford gave up when the automakers association attempted to thwart his attempts at making an affordable car for the masses?

And again you have to attack the guy. Whatever. It will never change.

And I very much appreciate that.

I certainly have no problem with one speaking his mind, and truth be told, I appreciate that you're the only other member I can think of who bothers to point out the problem with valuing cents at grade A prices, which something that needs to be pressed for the benefit of this hobby. My issue here isn't that you speak your mind, but right or wrong, how it may be interpreted. Perhaps this will further the point better than I've done thus far: something I learned some years back was that, beyond those who simply collect and enjoy them, these minor varieties can and do allow some to participate in this hobby who otherwise would not be able to for the simple fact they're cheap and can often be found in circulation. Short of the exceedingly rare IHC, Buffalo/V nickel, etc, etc find, opportunities to find collectible level coins no longer exists to the level it did in times past, and not everyone wishes to take the modern album route. Minor varieties not only can offer interested collectors a low dollar hobby, but also the chance to enter into a more advanced area where skill and study play large parts. These, imo, aren't bad things, certainly are not hurting anyone, and should be viewed as good and beneficial, but as with everything it seems, perhaps your issue is more with the misrepresentation that unfortunately comes with the territory. Just food for thought...

Beyond this, perhaps we can simply agree to disagree.

You stated that very well. Even the last sentence!:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

It's too bad that the error and variety collecting community can't come up with two classifications for collecting them - the one we know now - and one for those with empty pockets.
