Very strange...these images are on Photobucket .... they should have been ok... I just got the lap top back from the Geek Squad.... who knows what is wrong, now !!
Thanks, I do not have many Proof BARBERS. Slowly adding Dimes. I have been playing around with having a MS Toned example of each date as well as a choice AU55-58.... and now a Proof example of every year . I'm well beyond the point of ever having a POP TOP set of Barbers - I and a good friend have a consensus of opinion as to never buy too high brow a coin as it usually blows the collectibles budget ... So, my Proof Dimes are mostly 64's. The Newp is a 63 CAC ... I'm pretty happy about it.
Here is the latest upgrade for the Dime set: 1902-S - PCGS 58 The dealer who sold me this coin said the vast majority of 02-S's are dipped out. He remembers my AU 55 - and said it was one of the nicest 02-S's out there. { Guess he never saw the Lily Nichole set or Simpson's sets } Well, for comparison's sake - here is my AU 55 - you be the judge:
Frank, I plan on having the 02-S in 58 imaged by the same guy who imaged the AU 55, this Spring. I actually don't pick the 58 up until FUN in Tampa. Its hard to compare Apples and Eggs.
This is an AU 1913 I got for less than 20.00, I've seen it go for much higher in this condition. Tried to get the best pics with the kind of lighting I have.
If they are scratches, they are pretty even. But why only in that side of the field. You think if someone tried to clean it, the whole surface would look like that. I don't see any other marks on the coin, except there.
I'm not a serious Barber collector, but if I were to try a set of halves, this is the look I would be going for.
