Considering many dealers are still marketing the coin shown below as issued by Nektanebo II, I doubt adoption of the new attribution will be quick.
I am curious if there is a conflict of interest going on here. Did Phil dump a bunch of Eratos recently or worse.....naked short them before this publication. I am getting a deja vu moment here. Hate to be holding any high priced Eratos right now. The bulls are heading to the exits. It is reminiscent of the Wall Street tome "Barbarians at the Gate", but I believe that involved late 4th century issues. Someone made a killing on that play. Say it ain't so Phil. Say it ain't so.
Last time I give you a confidential tip! You could've been rich... but no, you opted for honesty and transparency instead. What kind of a capitalist are you, anyway?
I wonder if it also stands to reason that re-assigning the old 'Terpsichore' with flower symbol coins to Erato will result in the upward revaluation of the now reduced stock of actual Terpsichore examples, such that even budget examples like mine will now be worth more? Maybe not, eh . Nevermind, I mostly just bought it for the little tortoise anyway.
Great article, Phil! Count me among the collectors who are working (albeit slowly) on a muses set and who will be buying "your" Erato instead of the conventional variety.
