Nice! That is a Cud.. Break on the die after it's over used causes that raised metal blob which occurs always near the rim of the coin. If it was on any other part of the coin it would be considered a Die Chip.
    Worth more than 1C :woot:

What do these typically go for in price? I have a 1943 steel penny that has a cud, so I'm just curious as to their ballpark value.

A Cud on a Steel Cent would be worth a little more than a Cud on a regular Cent or Copper Plated Cent. I have purchased Cuds for about $3.00 - $10.00 depending on the size and location on the Cent. A Steel would be worth $15.00 - $25.00 again depending on it's size and location.

    Also to @SLACKACTION :woot:.. prices!

Well, that's pretty neato. My 1943 cud was a freebie thrown into another purchase I had made on Ebay. Score!

Yes, they do carry a premium, but you should be aware that the value is determined by what someone is willing to pay. If it were placed at auction, you might have only one bidder and the price could be low. However, if more than one person was chasing it, there is no telling what the final price could be.

Error and variety coins are the hardest to judge for value, so I tend to let the market determine the price.

If you provide enough booze to fill all of the shot glasses and you can drink them all in less than three hours, I won't charge you anything.

I hope that cabinet is well secured to the wall. I could see someone tripping over one of its legs pulling that whole thing down! ;)

It doesn't need to be secured to the wall. It is very well constructed by Amish craftsmen. It took me several years to actually find one that met my standards.

:hungry: I'm sure you didn't tell the Amish what it was for.
They would of not sold it to you! :hungover:

I dealt with a store in Ft. Myers, FL and they were definitely not Amish. I explained that the four extra glass shelves & hardware were needed for my collection.
