My M-I-L likes to use $2 bills for tips and gifts. She gave my niece a bunch of them for her birthday recently and as she was pulling them out of the package I noticed one had a red seal rather than the normal green seal. I pointed it out and asked if she wanted to sell it (offered her over face) but she wanted to keep it. My M-I-L said she had a bunch more at home so I asked her to look. Sadly she didn't have any more with the red seal. Not sure what the date was, but it appeared to be in very good shape (I am not a currency collector, my focus is normally coins), with no obvious folds, bends, or tears.

Any way to have a ballpark value on something like this, or is more info needed? Is it worth it for me to approach my niece again with a higher offer to buy it?

Picture will be of immense help. Otherwise:
    Series and approximate condition?
IF she is not willing to sell it at least have her keep it in a protective holder.

I agree with Techwriter but would add the signatures may make a difference too. With the condition, any rips or tears decrease any value.

Probably not worth much over face, but potentially does.
We need AT LEAST the series date, full serial number including all letters and numbers, and a realistic evaluation of its condition. A photo or scan would be a great start.

Thanks for the input...will have to talk to my niece and see if she is open to ANY offers before I can probably get more info... If she wants to keep it I may not get more info.
