900/1200 I was a bit upset when seeing only 7% people were thinking I'm the owner of the EID MAR denarius though Funny quizz TIF, thanks Q
Hmm. I just checked on my iPhone (model 5, I think) and I can see 4.5 answers. There is a scroll bar to the right of the answer choices. It is difficult to use the tiny scroll bar. The formatting could use some work but it's a free site, so I got what I paid for .
800/1200. Deserved it for not initially realising there was a scroll bar for the answers. Anyway, fun .
Yep, Maybe a bad idea I will wait for someone else to do all of that work. With many members having nearly identical coins in slightly varying condition, especially for moderns and common date morgans
800/1200 which is what Steve go so I feel OK but I agree mostly with him being proud that I got mine right. A couple I missed are really embarrassing. I picked the second answer too often because I thought I saw a pattern that turned out not to be there. On retest I did get them all and saw more interesting things in the wrong answers. On most coins that were not mine I was given credit by 6 to 12% of you but no one gave me a coin that I do have the type and 1% gave me the EID. Seriously? I was not aware of the Quiz Revolution but see how it could be useful. I wonder how we would do if we had an ID quiz on things some of us spend a lot of time discussing here. Have I been paying attention to JA's Nabateans or Mat's ladies? Could I pick the rare one out of a unlabeled group? I see the site also has a survey mode so we could see whether more people like Steve's coin or TIF's (one I missed). Thanks for the effort!
You're welcome! I like the idea of showing a group shot labeled by numbers and asking to pick out (some coin, some attribute) by the number. So far I haven't found a way to enlarge the quiz frame so the images would probably be too small for that. Dang it, I wish I knew how to write basic apps! I've been scouring the internet for a free match game quiz, one that would allow a column of pictures on one side an names on the other. So far I've come up blank.
I tried that when I did my website quiz http://www.forumancientcoins.com/dougsmith/quiz.html which proved hard for more people than planned. The problem, I suspect, is using a separately hosted page would be over the line for the free version since you would be linking to an exterior page which could carry ads other than theirs. I suppose we could post the images both there and in a thread here that would allow seeing the images enlarged if desired. This business of doing web surfing on a 2" phone is something I can not understand. I'm not sure how anyone is expected to see the required details to participate in some of our discussions let alone seeing a coin well enough that you can bid hundreds or thousands on it. A group would not have to be as large as the ones I did or the tray groups popular here but even on a normal computer screen, the size of the coins on Quiz Revolution is marginal. Zooming would help for some questions but require scrolling a lot for others. Example: Which of these coins is a genuine ancient Roman coin (give letter and short explanation justifying your choice). Clik image to see larger. Out of curiosity, I took a couple of their most popular quizzes. Most had problems. One had the answer to one question posted under the next scoring wrong answers as correct and rights as wrong. One IQ test had enough grammar and usage errors that I wonder if the creator was pre-teen. Yours worked well.
Let the statistics show that my collection seems to be the one that flies most under the radar. I'm the 'right answer' who scored the lowest percentage - 39%. Fail!!
700/1200 AJ's & ANoob's & OKI's coins were too easy. I was really torn between TIF & stevex6 on that Pontic Medusa coin. Thank you TIF.
