So I just had to go out and support Small Business Saturday today. Here is what I purchased. Nothing crazy but all told I only spent about $65
Have you not been following his acquisitions? Everything Hugh buys is high caliber. He apparently has 2 PCGS 93-S' Some of his Seated material is ridiculous. Pretty sure he has a proof Arrows and Rays quarter that is phenomenal
It's much nicer in hand, those were just lousy quick shots from my iPhone. I was pretty happy with my purchases today. Everything has nice original surfaces and at least some little bit of toning.
Yeah, I have been following it. I reiterate-- he isn't afraid to spend on coins. I thought I was bad, but he's got me beat.
Couldn't get a shot of the coin, something happened with my camera. Suddenly it said file image not found. I hope I didn't lose all these pics. So had to use sellers pic. This is a little washed out. The coin looks better in hand.
Also just picked this little girl up off of eBay. This is a gamble for sure based on the pictures although the seller has communicated that if I'm not satisfied, a return is absolutely no problem. I gotta feeling it will be a lot better than the pictures show.
Lord, Hugh. Your collection leaves me drooling. Just looking at your coins makes me proud to be a collector.
Here's a Cleveland commem I picked up on the Bay. It has just enough toning to suggest that it wasn't recently dipped. Since it appears to be newly slabbed I'm glad that it isn't blast white, as you can never be sure how that will turn out down the road.
Came across this while searching eBay for 1909 coins... as I regularly do. Picked it up because I never seen an example before and I like PCGS samples and promotional slabs:
