1962 d penny with a short and wide number 1 on the date

    Why is it shorter than other number 1's on other pennies? The whole 1962 is wide on the penny. Just wondering.

    Those numbers are not squarely rising from the field, they are rounded. With wear, those numbers will start to appear wider.

    Maybe to you it looks that way but it's normal. You have a PMD Damaged after leaving the mint... no value
