@panzerman The coin is a 1/10 stater. So the weight .83g. What's the 6.40g refer to? 0.83g. 6.40g. 4h
Great coin! I picked up a Roman weight with a countermark. It is the first weight in my collection so marked. ROMAN (Attalos). Circa 1st-3rd centuries. Weight of 3 Ounkia (Lead, 43x47 mm, 77.36 g). Obv - Γ within square incuse; to left, round countermark inscribed 'ATTA/ΛΟΥ ΔIC (?)'. Rev - BA [...] / [...] IAN/OY. Pondera 14476 ( this weight ). Minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, very fine. From a European collection, formed before 2005. pondera.com added a note on the stamp - AUTHORITY Attalos, agoranomos (West Asian mint)
I tend to wonder if these collectors know of these coins before hand. How can you follow coins of about only say 1000 made from all rulers etc.. some over 2000 years old. That’s a lot of thinking. 70’s we’re a blur
This is up for auction if somebody is interested: https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com/lots/view/4-EWFZ86/kyrenaika-kyrene-av-110-stater
