I used red arrows to point at the places that I am wondering about. I first noticed the nose, and found the same "doubling"??? on both sides.
I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. I just have a house to paint and fence to power wash so I won't get to do much coin inspecting for a bit :-/
I see die deterioration doubling. There are several types of doubling other than a doubled die that can be found on coins. This page covers the other types of doubling: http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/mechanicalDoubling.html With today's cent, split plate doubling and die deterioration doubling seem to be more common than the flat, shelf like doubling found on mechanical doubled coins.
