Emperor Nothing: Long lost Roman Emperor twin of Antoninus Pius

Today I was walking in Coral Gables, Florida when all of the sudden it started raining. I saw the coin shop nearby and ran in to ride out the rain. I made it clear that I would be buying nothing, but since I was stuck there, I would like to take the opportunity to browse the ancient coins.

I saw a denarii of what I thought was Emperor Antoninus Pius, and I told the salesperson:

Me: "Shame I'm buying Nothing, because that Antoninus Pius would help me get closer towards putting together a set of the five good Emperors."
Salesperson: "Well, that's not a problem at all, that's Emperor Nothing!".
Me: "Kind of looks like Emperor Antoninus Pius to me."
Salesperson: "Look again, Emperor Nothing and Antoninus kind of look the same, but it is indeed Emperor Nothing, so you can purchase this coin without breaking your word."

Well, I did want to be the kind of person who keeps his own word, so I purchased Nothing. After all, the last thing I want to be accused of is not keeping my promises.

So without further adieu, here is Nothing. I know it looks a lot like Antoninus Pius, and one could be easily mistaken, but I hear that's just because Nothing was the long lost twin of Antoninus.

Edit: I asked if I should brighten it a bit, but decided against cleaning it at all.

Actually looks good - I'd say leave it alone. Do Nothing - :D Unless you are driven for some reason to clean it!

Yeah, I'm kind of leaning towards leaving it as is, but I still wanted to get some input on the matter. The last thing I want is to have an overly shinny coin. That would be bad.

Hmmm...so you're walking around, minding your own business and all the sudden it's a downpour. The rain is so bad you're forced to seek shelter and the only place around is a coin store, that just so happens to sell ancients? o_O:D;)

    Where is that meme?

If the pics show how it actually looks then it's beautiful - don't mess with it!!

Well, I may or may not have made my way there despite the fact there were a few stores closer to where I was, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well the coin stories are great fiction - but photos NEVER lie, right??

That is indeed a very accurate image of what it looks like. I'll leave it as is.

Funny thing about Antoninus, he was actually descended from celts!:nailbiting:
His ancestors were Celts from Nismes who had settled in Southern Italy.
Rome truly was a melting pot.

Updated Picture: This is just about what the coin looks in person. All the colors are as true to life as possible, and nothing has been edited or enhanced.
