1936 wheat penny what is this under the date??

    Might be a die chip or gouge if it's raised

    Strike through are recessed and die dents are raised

    LOL I know, my point is that dent in the die can be created just like a strike through happens on a coin.

    OP says its raised in the field not sure if its coming out of an indent, caused from a die dent .
