Too much. I know better, but thought the guy was legit since some of his coins were being verified on PCGS site. I now believe all are fakes. I'm just not sure how he faked the PCGS ones.
If you used a CC to pay through PayPal, you CC will back you up. However, my guess is as soon as you say couterfeit, PayPal will back you.
Why? The coins showed on the ends looked uncirculated Indians whereas the inside coins were all worse than what you'd get from a grocery store refund.
His other PCGS coin didn't come up as verified though and given his aggressive comments, I believe (but may not be able to prove) that he knew what he was selling me and has no remorse. The rest of the coins are not in graded holders, but he is selling quite a bit right now to others.
OK keep in mind a coin worth that much would automatically warrent asecure shield and photos and stuff you don't go cheap on high end coins
I agree with you now, but at the time thought that PCGS verified coins were legit. Now I realize that even those are likely being forged. This guy has conned a lot of people IMHO.
Wait... you think the stripper's $12k PCGS coin he sold for $1500 was genuine based solely upon the fact he had other lesser genuine coins even though he sold you a fake, yet now think everything this guy has is fake.... because he sold a counterfeit? I'm sorry... you seem like a genuinely nice person, so please don't take this wrong, but perhaps it's time to step back and rethink your approach.
I was an idiot. Admitted and hoping to get my $ back. To be fair, I only paid a small portion of the advertised price. I did at least get that part right. Mainly I got conned because he had just sold what appeared to be a legit PCGS coin. This was before he posted or sold the other coins. I started to catch on after he kept posting coins. Both of the bank rolled coins are obvious fakes based on weight and just the look of them in person. The other coins have been harder to identify, but I think it's a con.
So file a complaint with my bank? Do I still need to return them in the same condition? I can do that for most of the coins, but not all of them. Also, one fake appears to be good enough to have fooled a PCGS dealer who recommended that we have it sent in for grading. My gut just says that I'd be stupid to pay a penny for this guy's coins. I want my $ back.
