Not yet... expected ship date is the 26th, so I am guessing we are really close now. I check every few minutes it feels like :)

they might just charge your credit card for the full price they charge for gold coins, that's what PCGS does but I am not really sure about anacs

They charged me the amount for the promo... I'm thankful for that.

Holy cow I got slaughtered. I am now a firm believer that ANACS grades these coins harder than ngc does. This is several times now that coins have come back graded lower with anacs than ngc.

That's unfortunate. That is a long list of AU Indians (with a few low MS to go with). The positive is that the $2.5 Indian looks great in AU so you have a number of nice coins.

These were not my nicest ones (already sent those to ngc), but they were still pretty darn good. The few that were already ngc graded ended up being down graded. This has happened in the past. I honestly think NGC grades would be one or two steps above all of these grades, so I think most are low MS.

    Couple questions:
    1. Cleaning slips by most of us. But did you notice the "mounts removed" on the one?
    2. Does "clashed dies" add anything to value, or does it just add interest?

Yes, I noticed the mounts. I sent this coin to NGC as well. I see a few die characteristics of a 1911-D on this one, so wanted to have a few different eyes on it to see if they would agree with me. If it was graded a 1911-d, it would be very valuable, even with the damage. So far, they do not agree with me. I have had to submit another one a few times before it got the weak D though, so might try again later. I am not sure if the clashed dies add value, but NGC would not attribute them, so I let anacs grade those. I honestly feel like they are low MS coins, but oh well.

I can't help but see this as, perhaps, being just more proof of ANACS permanently cutting their own throat, and how no matter what route is taken, they'll never be able to get back what once was. Perception really is everything.

It's tough for them. People think ANACS graded coins are not true grades, so they do not bring as much, but from what I have experienced, they actually are tougher on grades, which makes me afraid to use them. Maybe I should start buying up the anacs Indians I find, then re-grading with NGC?

Seems like you find enough Indians already. Please leave some for me to do that with.

I have been slowly setting some aside for a few years now. I really didn't realize how many I had, so I decided I needed to grade some and sell some. 26 this round, and I think it was 14 or so with NGC a few months back. I still have a ton too ungraded, haha.

I take that as a challenge. Give me a year and maybe I can laugh back. I started by picking up 5 graded last winter. Then MS64 $2.5 Libs caught my eye and I started grabbing those. Then I upgraded to MS64 $5 Libs and now I'm working on getting some $10 Libs and Indians. This winter I may just go back to my roots and pick up some more $2.5 Indians. The plan is a set of MS64's.

You can own more if they are lower grades :) 62 is about the top I will keep in my collection.

That is my plan if gold ever gets back down in the $700-800 range. Until then I stay with MS63/64 gold with the hope the coins will not crash as hard should gold move back to prices from 2001-2003.

If I ever get the chance to buy graded $20 Saints at $450 like they did 10-12 years ago I will buy a roll and a few rolls of Indians.
