This is from a company that should really not be selling coins. But notice at the bottom text-"A famous one states "Fifty Cents Or A Dollar". Does anyone know of a bust half that states this on a coin originally minted that way? I'm not a bust expert nor do I know the Overton varieties so I'll leave it up to an expert here that might shed some light on this.
Lettered edge often had all kinds of issues with the letters, I got one the got spelling issue. Not the kind that spells "Dollar" instead of "Half A Dollar" of course...
Please take me lightly but I can see how that could have happened now..."I got one the got spelling issue"...LOL
What's worse is they are talking about the history of the Bust Half Dollar, but the ad says Pre-Civil War Silver Dollar, not half dollar. So what are you even buying?
And the dies had nothing whatsoever to do with the edge lettering; that was created by the Castaing Machine. The fail is strong with that one.
