This is my latest pick up. A bullion dealer I frequent had a few of these in. This was the best of them all. In hand she looks spectacular, the photo's are a bit hard on her though. It's a VAM-2 as well.
Nice GSA. 64'ish. Did you get the original black/navy box and certificate? Call me OCD, but I like to have these as well. I'm still looking for a 1885 CC cert. I have the coin (MS65) and the OGP, but not the cert. IMO, they go for moon money on eBay and I'm not willing to pay that price for one.
That's one pretty woman. No real visible scars on her, just luster swipes. Good high-quality pictures, too, really show what she's got. Well done, sir.
To me, the GSA's miss something without the box and certificate. Not too often that one can read inspiring words from Richard Nixon.
Thanks guys. Yes the images make her look a lot more baggy than she really is. In hand she is very clean looking. Most of what you see are just very light breaks in the frost and not hit's. Those lines that look hairlines on her cheek are planchet striations. @jpcienkus It came with the box, but it was missing the cert. He had only one cert with the group and it was for an '83. I was able to swap the original box which had a torn hinge and walls. I was able to get a like new box for it. I'm a bit OCD as well, I've been looking at getting a COA on eBay, they are running in the $10.00 neighborhood. As for the quality of image, thank you. I've started a coin photography business, treylxapi47 has been one of my customers so far. I will be placing an ad in the BST section and adding a link to my website in my signature soon.
Very nice , I bought 6 back in the '70s during the 2nd GSA sales . Wish mine were as nice as yours . Great pics , what did you use ?
Thanks Trey!! For my pictures. I use a Nikon D800E with a Rodenstock Rodagon APO 75mm enlarging lens on a bellows system mounted on a copy stand. The images above are 1/4th the actual size. I'll upload a couple of 100% crops so you can get a feel for the detail available.
Which is EXACTLY why I have to use him. I have two actual digital cameras and still end up with better pictures from my cell phone when I do take them. Photography is just a skill I am lacking, much like I cant draw or even comprehend the logistics behind music. I guess I just lack the artsy gene
Thank you for the kind words. I've been a photographer and graphic designer for over 10 years. I've enjoyed drawing and painting since I was a kid. The artist gene runs on both sides of my family. Now my daughter is really developing her drawing skills. She will sit down and draw for hours. It's brings a smile to my face watching her sit so intently and creating. She just turned 8. My passion is nature photography. Here is an example of my latest landscape work. Some of you may recognize this Mountain, it was the backdrop from a famous movie The Shining.
Nice coin. I'd say a strong 64 or 64+ with great frosty luster. My photography sucks as we all know. Is easy to tell the pics I took myself
