Hi, I have a 1958 D cent w/ what I believe is a die crack error (bowtie) I took pics, but my camera on my phone isnt the greatest & pics were not clear enough to post. Has anyone heard of the 1958 D cent w/ this error? Thank you!
Would really have to see some pics - even a slightly blurry pic can reveal a die crack. Just don't try to take close ups if your camera doesn't have a close up feature. One man's die crack is another man's post mint damage
Cannot say w/o pics but die cracks are prevalent on most Lincoln Cents, especially Philly coins. The 50's were notorious for over use of dies and therefore had many, many cracks all over these coins. Especially the wheat stalks on the reverse, the ends of the top and bottom of the Memorial building on coins after 1958, even nice late stage full blown cracks from the center of both sides to the rim. I find them to be a lot of fun and they sell well in lots of 20 for me.
