I found this quarter years ago, and completely forgot about it until i was cleaning out some old stuff.

Just curious about opinions of the coin.

Nice off-center strike, worth a few bucks, but don't quit your day-job.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I wouldn't count on it appreciating much, but it is cool. It is a genuine off-center strike. Unfortunately, these are relatively common (and often found much more off center than yours). I'd say yours is about 20% off center in the k6 direction. The mintmark is still evident, which is a bonus. I'd put the value of yours at about $15-$20

Thanks for the info. Would be great if it was worth more, but that's ok...

Sorry.... Even quarters up to 90% off center are fairly common.

Yeah, that's a mint defect, it's a defective quarter. Return it to the Mint and request your money back. :D

It's more off-center than most. I'd guess it'd bring at least $50 on eBay.

That's a great find. And its actually an error!

Welcome by the way, hope you stick around. If you do stick around and read the error forms you'll understand my comment about it actually being an error.

Definitely worth a lot. Research these errors in the auctions and you'll see. This one is in very good condition and has the date showing. Of course the reverse in and of itself is going to "date" it, but a showing date is still big. This is one heck of a find in change. I know I never found one.
