I actually feel the opposite as you .. I love the change from Liberty on the crown to Pike's Peak .. It feels more appropriate.
Ummm ????? That makes no sense as you are supporting my statement.. It's a Daniel Carr token thread and NOT a private mint issues thread of pieces from other minters .
That's it. I heard enough. Anybody want to buy a coin collection? I think I'm going to stop collecting coins and start collecting your obviously better-made tokens. Do you mind?
No not at all. You have our permission to buy the same tokens we like. All you have to do is a Perfect Act of Contrition in public.
WELCOME to the DARK SIDE !! I'm glad you have finally come to your senses .. I think the Horse Puckey's & the Big Gold must have done the trick .. Like most doctors we just had to feed you the right medication
Listen, boys, I don't have an issue with his tokens. My issue is with his fantasy pieces. As regards his tokens, let the record reflect, some I like, some I don't much care for.
That's how you have it? That's all you see? You don't see how his fantasy pieces differ from his tokens? No wonder you don't understand anything Doug, Larry and I have been saying. Now you make sense. You missed the boat.
Dear God. You started it now. Morgan will be back with insults towards anyone with a different opinion.
NO, no one bothered to report it until now and tokens are not my interest to read. But now I have went through the last 3 pages, removed some, and will give infractions as needed, and go through the preceding pages to see what else I will repair. Stop the sissy-fits at this points. You can continue the thread as it reflects only on the numismatic side. No More Personal smacks! If it had been reported earlier, some might not have gone over the infraction line. Jim
"Nor you"? Can you please show me EXACTLY where I voiced my opinion on the matter? Perhaps it's just age here, but I don't recall having previously said how I felt regarding the comment. It's ironic that we're discussing what is offensive and unacceptable, isn't it? As for the mod; so what? Should his job be to slap the hands of and/or ban anyone whose opinion you find to be offensive, or do you believe they should do the same for everyone? The former would simply be ridiculous, and if the latter, there probably wouldn't be anyone left here for them to moderate as someone is always going to poo poo about someone else, sometimes reasonably and sometimes selfishly or stupidly. With all due respect; you didn't take the high road and seemed more than happy to dish your own personal jabs, so is it safe to assume a mod should have come down on you as well? You've chosen to collect in an area that, like it or not, does not have the universal acceptance you may think it deserves; controversy has and probably will always follow due to the very nature of what he chooses to produce. If you get great enjoyment from collecting Mr. Carr's work, it shouldn't matter what others might "think", that is, unless what you're really collecting is the approval of others. Therefore, why not just enjoy what makes you happy and stop insisting others capitulate to your wants, wishes, or demands? The fact is and will remain that he didn't call YOU a "toilet seat", but simply expressed his opinion and compared an emotionless object to one due to its general shape. Life is simply too short to stress over such trivial nonsense as one guy's "I think" opinion, or some other's posting a handful of obvious counterfeits.
Lookin good DW !! It appears to be pretty tough to get a 70.. I think I've only seen 70's on the one oz silver Prospector tokens to date.. I'm a bit surprised at the 68 on the Exchange Currency piece .. I bought a number of them and the strikes were all beautiful.. Im considering the project the more I see the pieces that you guys have shown slabbed.. I have 2 sets of the Glendale CC pieces in silver and copper that I obtained through Michael Kittle .. I actually like their token for this year even better, but haven't purchased them yet .. The post strike finished ones are gorgeous!! That Buffalo Centennial round was a great concept and at $3.75 over spot in lots of (20) was a bargain .. There is a guy that has been artificially toning them recently on eBay and they brought some good money .. John Schipp did a hobo on one that was pretty sweet .. The perimeter ring leaves a lot of room to work on .. The reverse eagle and sun on the $50 Trade is one of my favorites Thanks for sharing.
