Sure Hirtius Titus had a whopping win last night against Marcus Varus in the Flavian Amphitheatre, beating all odds.
Since there was some discussion of overstrikes in this thread, I thought I'd share my latest purchase. I will have had much more time to research and possibly(but probably not) even work out the undertype once I get this in and take better pictures, but here's a preview: Roman Republic Æ Sextans(4.58 grams, 20.67 mm). Caius Aurunculeius Cotta, Praetor of Sardinia, 209 BC. Sardinian mint. Head of Mercury right. above, two pellets / Prow right; above, ROMA; before AVR monogram; two pellets below. Crawford 65/6, Sydenham 162d. Ex F.J. Rath list 5, 1970. These are virtually all overstruck on Sardinian, Sicilian or Punic bronzes, and this one shows evidence of it, but I haven't worked out the undertype so far.
