Right now I am looking at wizard coin supply just because I get emails from them sometimes. Any other good sites I should check out?
I just bought the silica packs for my SDB from jpscorner and the transaction was great. Very fast delivery. I have also bought from www.wizardcoinsupply.com/ and had luck with them.
Brooklyn Gallery has the best items and prices for me.. and they are located in NYC where I live. An NGC Slab storage box goes for $8.96 I can actually order online then pick up my items the next day. I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.brooklyngallery.com/
yeah www.wizardcoinsupply.com/ is probably the best place I can find coin supply. www.Dansco.com is a good one too for the coin books. Shop on eBay for better prices than the sites listed. They get their supplies from them and somehow you get a cheaper deal on eBay. JMHO.
I go here cause they are local, but I know they ship stuff out. Worth giving them a call. http://www.hbrcoins.com/supplies
Wizard coin supply is great, but I wish they had a store front. They are just down the street from me.
Supplies for...? Your own use or are you asking about resale? If the former, you've some fine suggestions, but if the latter I would respectfully suggest you reconsider. In your present situation there just isnt likely to be any upside to them.
I buy some stuff from Whitman I am on their mailing list, so I get info of sale items & coupons for $ off & free shipping offers. https://www.whitman.com/store?trk_m...ct+Your+Savings!+$15+Off+or+$30+Off!+SHOP+NOW!
I've ordered from jpscorner & wizard but prefer ValleyCoin.com - Coins, Currency and Precious Metals for Every Collector
You can't buy at retail, pay postage or freight, and expect to make money on resale, not to mention the sales tax hassle, and the competition from other dealers who sell supplies at a loss merely to get folks to visit their table.
Why is everyone talking about resale? Wizard is who I use now, I used to use JP's. Both are good, have good service, and a good selection. I switched to Wizard because they had some books I wanted, and I was impressed with their service.
Nope, I'm just planning on using them to organize my collections a bit better. I could just not pay sales tax I wasn't planning to. Maybe in the far future I might do what you're describing but not now. I think because of the thread I had talking about me wanting to become a dealer and people think that I want to sell the supplies. That's my guess at least.
The impression was that, hand-in-hand with the desperate desire to set up a coin show, the OP wanted to sell supplies too. For a collector's modest day-to-day needs, your LCS should prove adequate, and it confirms you're a customer, not a tire-kicker. The only thing I buy (by mail order) for my stamp biz are 6 x 8 cardboard mailers (22c each), and for an increasing number of small lightweight orders, I refold a file folder to create a pocket, and use that. Cost, 4c.
Well, I see my "impression" was wrong. Unless the difference is huge (taking postage into account), I'd still patronize my LCS. They will remember.
Ya, getting the stuff from an LCS can go a long way to establishing a good relationship. And even if you find better prices for stuff online, you've got to watch out for shipping. In many cases you need to buy lots of stuff to make it worth it. Think Wizard is $9 standard? When I was buying Air-Tites online they come out to about $0.65 each but the shipping was about $9 so I made sure I was placing a big order. Just something to keep in mind.
