Hello all. Im helping a friend sell a framed sheet of 16-1976 $2.00 bills. Im thinking it best to take out of frame & sell that way. Will sell on E-Bay. The frame is very heavy & ugly (gold painted wood) looks professionally done but think it would cost alot to mail. If I take out of frame to sell, how do you ship them? I thinking maybe FedEx or USPS has a tube like item for posters? Any idea what postage might be? And what I might expect to get for him. They are D 00730764 with a star after the number. They all have the 764 as the last 3 numbers. Any help will be nice, Thanks in advance Jim

That does not sound right. They should be different numbers. If the First bill has the last 3 numbers 764 then the next numbers should be 765, 766, 767 etc. Maybe it's a fake sheet of $2.00 bills

All legit US currency that's printed should have sequential numbers. Here is an example of 2 $2.00 bills that I have ending in 042 then 043

No, sheets haven't worked that way since the 12-subject era. On modern sheets, the last few digits of the serial will be the same on all the notes in the sheet; some digits in the middle will change.

On a 1976 $2 sheet, the serials should differ by 20,000 from position to position. The OP's sheet presumably contains serial numbers

    00650764 00730764
    00670764 00750764
    00690764 00770764
    00710764 00790764
    00810764 00890764
    00830764 00910764
    00850764 00930764
    00870764 00950764

As to the value, I don't really keep up with what these things are selling for, but I can tell you that the D..* is one of the most common 1976 $2 star sheets. It'll be worth more than face value, certainly, but it won't be worth a large premium the way a B..* or J..* sheet would be.

Notes become consecutive AFTER they are cut up from sheets.
Typical sheets do have the same ending numbers.

You can sell it in frame "plus calculated shipping"

You are probably better to sell just the sheet and ship in a tube. The glass will not likely survive shipping. If you want to keep the frame and note together maybe sell locally but you will likely get less. Maybe find someone you know that is a collector that might be interested? People do that with me at work on a regular basis.

Im thinking tube also. When looking at them close it appears to be held in place with a drop of glue on the backs of the top 2 bills. The fame is anodized gold aluminum & the bills are in between 2 pieces of glass. 20" X 30" & has about 4 " of clear glass around all 4 sides of frame, alas its quite heavy. As long as Im honest when listing I see no problem, but who knows? Thanks Jim
