Just as the title says, I'm thinking this used to be 1944-D. What do you guys/gals think? http://m.ebay.com/itm/1914-D-Lincoln-Cent-/252101938239?nav=SEARCH
I almost wonder sometimes if a large group of Denver 1944's got together and shed their first 4's as some sort of war protest or something. There seem to be so many of them on the market today.
The 44D should be easily distinguishable by color alone, since these are "shell casing" cents, and have a slightly different composition. It almost appears that it is/was a 34D - the phantom "1" appears rounded/straightened, maybe?
No vdb under arm on Shoulder. The initials were restored, this time smaller, on Lincoln's shoulder, in 1918.
Not sure what you are trying to imply (do you think it's real?!?), but the pictures are so bad that it would take impossible to see any initials.
