On the conservative side of a "fair"grade, I think, and a really nice indicator of just where strike first intrudes itself as a factor on Peace Dollar obverses. This obverse is a nice teaching tool, and the coin itself is a gorgeous high-end 64 with "recent but acceptable" toning.

It bears mentioning that 1924-S is a real rarity in Gem or near, with only a handful available in 66. This is an easy $1k coin in a 64 slab, and the value jump to 65 is at least $5k additional. A TPG will not be easy on this issue.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

    I agree.

I think the mark on the eagle's wing is what brings this one down.

If the pictures are an accurate representation of the quality of this coin, I'll bet that you'd get a 65 if you submitted this enough times.

Well I do have a promising update.

After several additional opinions from known and trusted graders and dealers, I am having the coin re-submitted. Gonna be a long cold winter!

My pictures really didn't do the coin justice, especially the obverse which shows a submarined "PEACE" and I truly believe the strike is much more beautiful than the reverse picture represents.

To me it's a 64 and a solid one but a few to many major marks for a 65. 64 and a green bean I'd be happy with
