1861 Indian Cent "Error?"

    Hey, How's it going everyone hope all is good? So for Im A okay ;) if anyone should wonder... My day can be a whole lot better i must say if only i can determine what type of "error" or if its even an "error" coined I have here...? Anyone, your thoughts and opinion can change a mans day for the better. Thanks to All...

    It's hard to tell. It could use a "bath", and it might help if you post photos of both sides.

    Lol bath really? How, the black stuff if remember correctly its printed in the coin. Any attempt to wipe those black dots/ink looking material Im sure will do damage to the coin. But if it help I'll see if I can get some nice shots of reverse in asap... Thank you.

    It's not an error coin. It's just damaged. It was beat to death by something. It's impossible to know what was used.

    Idhair is correct. It's damaged. Post Mint. PMD. That coin took a real beating, after all, it's 154 years old. It's looks like it went through a war. Given the date, maybe it did.

    The "black stuff" is corrosion and coins are not printed...

    I think you guys are right when looking at the coin carefully it lookss more damaged than it is "error" glad ya shine in thanks...
