Terrific denarius 'ro' with fantastic eye appeal!!! Bing had a birthday 'party' for Antoninus the other day---it turns out they both share the same day...Hmmm still sounds fishy to me
Very nice! The more I see these around these pages the more I want to get my first coin. I was actually looking closer at them at the coin shop yesterday.
When shopping for ancient coins there is so much variety that you should buy what you like. Do not worry about what other people collect.
Absolutely!!! My budget constrains me from acquiring some of the types posted, but I 'settle' for those I like at a lesser grade....and the varieties of all available types are almost literally endless.... Yet, these 'posts' do inspire me to go after and purchase similar examples that I may still be missing and that I'm already interested in---but ALL "Ancients' interest me. LOL I just added another RR denarii and another denomination of a scarce Emperor portrait while still have three others on bid; two are of 'animal types' which was a thread that 'TIF' recently started....and another a Res Publica denarius type that 'AL' posted.... specifically of Cassius, one of those associated with the assassination of Caesar. Just have fun and go after those that truly grab you and you just HAVE to own.
