physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

    Both appear nice.

The first coin appears lustrous, but the mark on his nose and the mark on his cheek are fairly severe. Is that a die break or a mark on his chin? If it is a die break, I'll call it a low 65 overall - but if that's a mark on his chin, I'll call it 64+. Without those marks, I wouldn't hesitate to call this one a 66.

The second one is a bit tougher. The strike appears strong, but there is a significant amount of chatter on his face. There are also a few decent marks on the reverse. The eye appeal appears good - interpreting your pictures, I'd say this coin is semi-prooflike (although not strong enough for the designation). I think I'm going to say 64 on this one.

These were quick shots, done with existing light, and shot on the dinning room table. I'll shoot some more pics tomorrow and throw a bit more light on the subjects........you guys are great.

Physics-fan, I don't think there is a die break involved. Wait for my next round of shots and then have a look-see.......:)

I would agree. Maybe its the pic, but the bottom seems to have too much chatter for a 65. The first one really is terrific. A 67 would not surprise me.

The last Supplement in the CDN had a nice write-up on these and the Washington-Carver.
