Why should one do that? You can still buy them from the mint.

If you had a coupon like 5X ebucks that they are offering right now it might work out good for you. 1 set from the mint will be $62.90 so

I thought before they were going to have 25K mintage for Kennedy and the rest were 17K . When did it change ? Yes I do agree that too many cry babies not able to get a set or 2. Also the limit change to 2 per household and not like other set 5 per household. So many wants and so much greedy people (US Mint).

President Kennedy was assassinated and could not have approved the design of the coin. The coin was a tribute to him.

I believe the original quote was talking about the silver medal which is a reproduction of his inauguration medal which he could have approved.

I believe it changed shortly after the Ike set debacle. There were a lot of complaints about the inability for "normal" people to buy the set without paying 3-4x retail on ebay. The LBJ set will be upped to 25k as well. Depending on how that set performs, that might be the new norm going forward or there could be another increase next year.

I ordered one set. Is it worth the cost to send the coins to NGC for certification?

IF you think it can be a 70, I would. If you see ANY imperfections, I would not waste my money grading it.
