I bought it because it was a s-3.

I also say VF30 because the wing looks too flat for a 35.

I'd say the tpg grade would be 35 . By ANA Grading Standards would be 30 .Nice example of the type .

    Ow! Ow! Ow!
THAT'S the Snow variety (S-3) I'm looking for.
It's the only one of the 9 varieties that is considered a business strike and not a proof.
So it will NOT be graded PF-xx.

I'm not sure it is an S-3.

Broken wing tip, E on One on reverse are basically touching

Why do you think it's not?

I'm thinking the S-3 is a DDO. Usually easy to spot in images.

So there's more than one die with a broken wing?

The hub caused the broken wing. Not sure how many dies were made from it.

It looks like 2 dies. Broken wing and repaired wing. Guess I'll have to see it in hand.

They were still using the same hub in 1858. It was used on the famous 1858/7.
I was trying to find the Snow# for your coin BigTee but I can't find it.

Snow? No snow for me, thanks. Here in the south, we don't abide by such frigid foolishness!

;) Sorry, I don't have a copy of the Snow book.
