Looks more like plating issues to me. Your coin does not have the thickness, for one, in the N of CENT when compared to the DDR.

Wexler is a later die state, then the one I have . This one is much stronger, letter are more rounded on my then wexler coin too .. You take tell the dies were just polished too ..

I wish it wasn't dark outside, I could get a better image . If you take a look at the " A " in STATE you can see the grove starting in it, just like Wexler ..

I'm not seeing it..Looks like a plating issue/die detoriation, hard to tell with the glare from the cent. I do see what you are referring to in the letter "A" though. Would be interesting to find out though. I would have to look into it...hopefully I can read more about it, though hard at work lol

This coin was struck right after the die was poished . It takes some time for the lines to go away, the more the die is struck, the more the lines will go away . It reminds me of a burnished die .. Heres another example of a polished die 22.JPG 23.JPG

I recognize the full steps and well struck hair, but I fail to see nice round doubling.

If this is the DDR-001, shouldn't it have the die scratch at the bottom of the first T in STATES running through the bottom of the A as shown in Wexler's example? For your coin to be this particular DDR it has to have it. Just like MPL's diagnostics are the defining proof of authentication. You can't just say something is a certain variety if the markers (diagnostics) aren't there.

Do you have plans to have this coin authenticated as a DDR-001?
