I'm always going through my pocket change,as any true collector would....I ran across this cent. Now not being 1 into modern stuff to much and 2 not being a Lincoln cent collector, this looked a tad bid strange. Have a look below Lincolns neck. I can almost guess the first answer is going to be die chip. I have looked at several other Lincolns and this does not seen to be present on the other cents. 2007 Lincoln cent obv..jpg 2007 Lincoln cent rev.jpg 2007 Lincoln neck 1.jpg 2007 Lincolns neck 2.jpg 2007 Lincolns neck 2.jpg

500,000 comedians out of work and you all want to be one!
and BTW that area is raised and there's like a void on the inside.

The coin shown exhibits a very minor die chip. If you can come up with a fancy name and market it you could probably sell it for about a billion dollars.

"Goiter" is a recognized nickname for certain "rare and elusive variety coins." There is a Franklin which exhibits a similar die chip, and is referred to as a goiter. Its in the Tomaska book, although I've never actually seen one (in person, or for sale).

its part of the design, its his collar going around the opposite side of his neck...examples below..that is what your talking about,right...

That is the area in question but it is not on all Lincoln cents. As I have compared several some times it's there others it's not. And the ones that have it don't look like this one. As the inside towards the neck is a low spot down to the coins surface.

One possibility is Paddy's coin is an early die state, that part of the die may have worn away and therefore not be visible on later die state coins.....

Also have several 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 cents with metal blobs where the D should be for mint mark. Are they worth keeping . A few appear to have the D in pluribus but will have to have better magnification with my phone to validate . Finding what appears to be disfigured faces on the cent but will have to clean more
. Found date 1981 with number 3 (light) to right . Found plastic appearing 1998 cent with no covering, blonde in colour.so far . I'm a novice but am looking for the 1943 copper have been jumping around with 1944,1942,1941,1945 couple of times still looking though $25 + or - at a time in cents.
