This guy is selling same coins with different accounts. Just look at these auctions, same pictures, same location, same negative received for not delivery. 1) Sold July 19th, not delivered, negative left from buyer. - HERE 2) Sold July 22nd, not delivered, negative left from buyer - HERE 3) Sold July 27th, not delivered, negative left from buyer - HERE 4) Sold September 5th - HERE 5) Sold again days later - not delivered, negative left from buyer - HERE For sale now again : HERE Please stay away from this scammer and please report his latest scam listing, hopefully ebay will remove it before someone gets scammed.
No, he sells one item, doesn't ship, gets negative feedback, creates new account, sells again, and so on.
I reported the seller. Paypal's money back guarantee is going to go into overdrive with this character.
PayPal should permanently ditch this account holder as a goodwill gesture toward eBay. Without a PayPal account, it would be nearly impossible for this individual to continue to bait buyers, even if able to get more eBay accounts. Then he / she would give up.
I don't see what's the reason of doing this. His funds will become available 3 days after tracking shows delivered. Since he doesn't ship, ebay will refund the buyer. Why is he doing this? Please continue reporting the listing, someone might get fooled again if it stays on.
This person id good or just plan lucky. He must have quite a few credit cards to open up these accounts. Has anyone called eBay. 'derkerlegand', did you call eBay and speak to a person?
It seems the members of this list are often finding scams and fake coins on Ebay. This guy is apparently selling the same scam over and over, getting the bid money at Ebays expense. Because it makes money anyway, Ebay has always struck me as very slack on enforcement. Ok, its an enormous job, but they seem to have just shrugged it off, figuring, if you cant catch them all, why bother to catch any? If the members here can consistently catch scams, and they are simply amateurs, with far less time and resources than Ebay, why cant EBay? It seems EBay really just doesn't give a rats ass? If they made any honest effort, and caught even a small percentage, it would cut down on criminal activity. But based on what you can see, there doesn't seem to be any enforcement whatever, and scammers are fearless. Am I missing something?
It's a good idea to call, but if you don't have the time, you can report the listing by just clicking the "report item" option which you can find in the listing - just right of item specifics.
This has been going on for many months with various silver coins. I "bought" one of the auctions for thirty-odd ASEs at slightly below melt. BP came through as usual. I'm at a loss as to what anyone's gaining from this scam, since there seems to be no prospect of the scammer actually collecting. Maybe every once in a while they get a buyer who pays with something other than PayPal. Or maybe they've found some third-party "rewards" program that gives them some benefit even on transactions that get reversed. In the past, when eBay BP reversed a transaction like this, they didn't take back the eBay Bucks reward for the transaction. That would have made buying listings like this a winning proposition for the bidder. They appear to have fixed that glitch, though. My encounter came just before the end of the last quarter, and so, for this quarter, I've got a negative eBay Bucks balance. I haven't been buying the last couple of months, and at this point I'm inclined to hold out until the end of the month just to see whether the negative balance goes away or carries over.
I just finished up with my call to eBay and gave the girl the information on each account the person opened up. I also explain to her that when they open these accounts they must give a credit card number, which bothers me. How many cards could this person have. She did say that they would immediately open up an investigation. Lets see if this really happens.

Sorry! I actually have read the rules. Wasn't thinking. Just frustrated with ebay's seeming lack of concern toward scammers, and numismatic fakes. And, I'm truly glad this is a rule.
